well happy new year! and i forgot to mention this, i've already officially been collecting for one year now! i started last christmas!
this is just an update on all the stuff i got and forgot to tell yall i got, sorry
yeahhh i got a buncha stuff and forgot to tell you, but the albums are: Contemporary Movement, Blood Mountain, Year of the Snitch, Odelay, Lincoln, Combat Rock, Houdini, and Bring the Neon War Home
Contemporary Movement is the second studio album by American slowcore band Duster. The album was released in 2000 on Up Records. It was their last album before the band's hiatus later that year.
Blood Mountain is the third full-length studio album and major label debut by American heavy metal band Mastodon. The recording of the album finished in April 2006 and it was released on September 12, 2006 in the UK and North America through Reprise Records. The album in full could be streamed at the band's MySpace page a few days prior to the release. (WOW!! MYSPCE!!
Year of the Snitch is the sixth studio album by experimental hip hop group Death Grips, released on June 22, 2018, through Third Worlds and Harvest Records.
Odelay is the fifth studio album by American musician Beck, released on June 18, 1996, by DGC Records. The album featured several successful singles, including "Where It's At", "Devils Haircut", and "The New Pollution", and peaked at number sixteen on the Billboard 200. As of July 2008, the album had sold 2.3 million copies in the United States, making Odelay Beck's most successful album to date.
Lincoln is the second studio album by American alternative rock band They Might Be Giants. It was released by Bar/None in 1988. The album is named after John Linnell and John Flansburgh's boyhood home of Lincoln, Massachusetts. The album produced three singles—"Ana Ng", "They'll Need a Crane", and "Purple Toupee". It is included on Then: The Earlier Years, a compilation of the band's early material, in its entirety.
Combat Rock is the fifth studio album by the English rock band the Clash, released on 14 May 1982 through CBS Records. In the United Kingdom, the album charted at number 2, spending 23 weeks in the UK charts and peaked at number 7 in the United States, spending 61 weeks on the chart. The album was propelled by drummer Topper Headon's "Rock the Casbah" which became a staple on the newly launched MTV. Combat Rock continued the influence of funk and reggae like previous Clash albums, but also featured a more radio-friendly sound which alienated Clash fans.
Houdini is the fifth studio album by American rock band Melvins, released on September 21, 1993, by Atlantic Records. The album features a cover of the 1974 Kiss song "Goin' Blind". The songs "Hooch", "Lizzy", and "Honey Bucket" were released as singles with accompanying music videos. "Night Goat" is a partial re-recording of a song the band had released as a single in 1992. Nirvana's Kurt Cobain is given co-production credit alongside the Melvins on six tracks, for guitar on the song "Sky Pup" and percussion on the song "Spread Eagle Beagle".

since it is Christmas, I got some new records to show you all!
The albums are: "Give 'Em Enough Rope" by The Clash, "Deathconsciousness" by Have A Nice Life, "I Crush Bozo" by Happy Flowers, "The Wall" by Pink Floyd, and "MM.. FOOD" by MF DOOM.
Released on November 1978, this is punk rock band The Clash's sophomore album, featuring tracks such as "Safe European Home" and "English Civil War!"
Deathconsciousness is the debut double album by Connecticut Post-punk/Shoegaze duo Have A Nice Life, released on January 24, 2008. Fun Fact: The reason for the album's low quality, compressed audio quality is due to a hard drive crash, resulting in the master tapes being permanently gone forever, leaving the duo with only 192 kbit/s MP3 files.
I Crush Bozo is an experimental rock album by duo Happy Flowers. Not much is known about the duo.
The Wall is the eleventh studio album by progressive rock band Pink Floyd, released on November 30, 1979. Fun Facts: Bob Geldof cut his hand while the band was filming for a music video for the album, due to one of the scenes being of a hotel getting destructed. It is well known that Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2) includes a children's choir. This choir were from Islington Green School, and despite the single's massive success, they did not get many royalties. They later got the royalties they deserved many years later. This album has my favorite gatefold out of any of my other records!
MM.. FOOD is possibly known as MF DOOM's most well known project, a hip-hop albums with themes about food and friends. My copy, the 20 Year Anniversary Edition, comes in a silver color and has my second favorite gatefold in my collection!
hope you all had an amazing christmas cause i sure did

FINALLY!! The update that I've been waiting to make for nearly 2 months!! I have three new vinyl today:
Today I'm showing you... Soundtracks for the Blind, The New Abnormal, and Hey Clockface!!!
Soundtracks for the Blind (or SFTB) is what was supposed to be Swans' final project before Gira decided to get back together to make My Father Will Guide Me Up A Rope To The Sky (which i also have on vinyl!). It has 4 discs on the vinyl edition, but it was originally released as a digipack CD with two discs: one called Copper and one called Silver. It comes with a lyric sheet and a signed insert by Michael Gira himself! Couldn't snap a photo of the insert but i got a picture of the back of the lyric sheet, featuring an interesting photograph!
ok i like this album and the strokes but the packaging is just HORRIBLE. comes in a lame PVC sleeve (ewww) and i didnt get a photo of it anyway
This is Elvis Costello's 2020(?) studio album, and potentially his most experimental! Some of my favorites on the album are No Flag, They're Not Laughing At Me Now, and Hey Clockface / How Can You Face Me?. I got this at 2nd & Charles for 5 bucks because no one was getting it, and being a fan of Elvis Costello before, I decided that I should get it! My 2nd & Charles has amazing stuff!
got some pics of the record that i like
I've already gotten to Side E of Soundtracks for the Blind, but it was getting late, so I decided just to stop there. I WOULD finish it, though.
Also, if you haven't, check out my accounts in other places! Find me on Discogs @ pimpedbutterfly7 or on RYM at tokyobgnfg. Or on last.fm at tamale48 (yes, i have different usernames for each account.

recently I got some great albums... Wolf, Demon Days, and Madvillainy.
Wolf is the second studio album by Tyler, The Creator released on April 2nd, 2013. It's pressed on a really nice looking 2 LP hot pink colored vinyl.
Demon Days is the best Gorillaz album, which features tracks such as O Green World, Feel Good Inc, El Manana, and Dirty Harry.
Madvillainy is widely considered to be one of the best hip hop albums of all time, created by Madvillain, the name of the duo which features MF DOOM and Madlib.

i might save up for $150 to start a vinyl haul later this year
vinyl/cd updates will probably only be from gifts and stuff

These vinyl are JPEGMAFIA - Veteran and Slipknot - Self Titled.
The Peggy one is clear, and the Slippy one is lemon colored, which is fun
I got these both at my 2nd & Charles, they were just recently stocked! I wish I could've gotten I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU, though. That Peggy album is a lot to me.
Slipknot are a metal band from Iowa, which happens to be the name of their second album, Iowa. I saw Iowa at a Guitar Center once, but I couldn't get it. Sucks because it was a clear vinyl variant too!!!
JPEGMAFIA, AKA Peggy, is an experimental rapper from New York City. Their album, Veteran, is really good.
That one is Hawaii: Part II by Miracle Musical. The vinyl is on sale at their official store, it's probably still up right now.
These cds are Tool - Lateralus, Def Leppard - Pyromania, Primus - They Can't All Be Zingers, and Lynyrd Skynyrd - Gold.
I got Tool and Def Leppard at Walmart, while I got the other two from my dad. He's got amazing taste in music.
Tool are a progressive rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 1990. They are big for their album Lateralus and being genre defining.
Def Leppard are an English rock band formed in Sheffield in 1977. I personally think they should retire.
Primus are probably one of the weirdest and strangest rock band I've ever seen. They are from California, too.
They're the Free Bird and Sweet Home Alabama band. That's all you should really know.
